But after a hostile beginning, the two find they have some surprising common ground, in Halley Feiffer's outrageously funny, and ultimately touching, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City. The play begins a 4-week regional premiere run at Stage West on Thursday, March 8.

City Theatre, in partnership with Classic Lines Bookstore, will host writer, comedian, and cancer-survivor Jenny Allen in a one-night-only City Event, Monday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m., with special guest host Kristy Nolen. Allen's latest book, a collection of essays titled Would Everybody Please Stop?, explores everything from chemotherapy to empty nesting, all with her signature wry humor.

TURQUOISE is a disruption-of-memory play. Exploring the interconnectedness of everything through disruption, this intergenerational comedy examines seven lives across a spectrum: a couple married 71 years; a middle-aged concert pianist with a brain injury and his loving day nurse; and two 15-year-old boys trying to figure their way through a timeless set of adolescent passions.

Dixon Place presents TURQUOISE by award-winning playwright Deb Margolin. Ms. Margolin's first multi-character play in three years, TURQUOISE is an intergenerational comedy presented by an ensemble who are age 20 - 80. The long-running Off Broadway favorite Love, Loss, and What I Wore will close tonight, Sunday, March 25, 2012 after playing for two and a half years and 1,013 performances. (March 15th marked the show's landmark 1,000 performance.)

Geva Theatre Center's 2012 Nextstage Season kicks off with I Got Sick Then I Got Better, written and performed by Jenny Allen which begins performances on March 7 and runs in the Fielding Nextstage through March 11.
