Broadway Dinner Theatre's NINE Brings Appearance from Juno the Rescue Beagle, 4/11

Broadway_Dinner_Theatres_NINE_Brings_Appearance_from_Juno_the_Rescue_Beagle_411_20010101

Broadway to the Rescue hopes to raise funds to support the efforts of Pets Alive West (formerly the Elmsford Animal Shelter). We can't forget about the animals and those who care for them, with such dedication, while they wait for their "forever homes". Singer and Comedienne, Terry Rakov, began Better Late Than Never Productions, to provide performers, herself included, with an opportunity to perform while raising money and awareness for animal causes.

Better Late Than Never Productions is proud to present an evening of cocktails, dinner and Broadway entertainment by performers who share Terry's two true loves: Animals and Broadway! Performances By: Cris Groenendaal (Phantom of the Opera, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George), Dana Moore (A Chorus Line, Sweet Charity, Singin' in the Rain, Chicago), Jonathan Stahl (Cats, Swing!), Terry Rakov (Hello Dolly!, The Grand Tour, Zorba), Glory Crampton ("Christine" in Arthur Kopit and Maury Yeston's Phantom) Jennifer Jiles (Kicking & Screaming, The Musical!), Lisa Gold (Founder & President of Act Outside the Box), Lauren Blackman (Currently Appearing in Off -Broadway Production of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn). The Cast of Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre's 42nd Street, Directed & Choreographed by Randy Skinner, The Women of Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre's NINE, and a Special appearance by: Juno the Rescued Beagle.

JUNO, Named after the Roman Goddess, Juno, who was best known for her protection of the people, She always does her best to do her job and protect her family, to give everyone she meets her best wags and to share her message of hope; To look forward to a future when there are no more homeless pets. Juno's life started in a laboratory where she and 119 other beagles were used as testing subjects for cosmetics and household items. In April of 2010, the lab went bankrupt and closed their doors leaving the beagles to starve to death. Some wonderful people from Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, UT and Pet's Alive Animal Sanctuary in Middletown, NY stepped in and rescued them from a horrible fate. She found a family who truly loves her and has given her the love and support she needed to learn to just be a dog. She has been called by one of the founding fathers of Best Friends Animal Society, "an ambassador for homeless animals everywhere", especially laboratory tested animals. This outdated practice is unnecessary and costs many animals all over the world, including the United States, their lives every year. Her Facebook page (Juno Rescued Beagle) has over 550 friends and counting. She urges you to "remember to support cruelty free companies", and "adopt, don't buy, while shelter pets die". http://junorescuedbeagle.com/home/

Terry Rakov appeared on Broadway with Carol Channing in the revival of Hello Dolly! and with Joel Grey in Jerry Herman's The Grand Tour. She toured nationally as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls with Maureen McGovern, and in Zorba with Anthony Quinn, serving as Mr. Quinn's personal vocal coach as well as appearing with him on stage. Off-Broadway, Ms. Rakov appeared in Romance Is at the Perry St. Theater and in Bittersuite at the Quaigh. She shared the stage with Faith Prince as the Ugly Stepsisters in Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella at the CLO in Pittsburgh and returned as Julie in Showboat, Marge MacDougal in Promises, Promises and The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz with Cathy Rigby.
